Está aí o novo álbum dos Rhapsody, From Chaos To Eternity, e com ele chega ao fim a saga The Symphony of Enchanted Lands II: The Dark Secret.

O novo álbum está muito bom mas deixo aqui a minha pequena review que coloquei num fórum canadiano:

The production of this album is better than The Frozen Tears Of Angels (2010). Everything sounds fine to me. My favorite songs so far are "Ghosts of Forgotten Worlds", "Heroes of the Waterfall's Kingdom" and "From Chaos to Eternity". The least I like is "Anima Perduta" because it doesn't achieve that celtic magic mood tat the band pretends. "I Belong to the Stars" I like but sounds a bit of a rock song and not quite a Rhapsody song.

My somewhat problem with the album, is the more focus on the guitars and less of the keyboards and orchestrations in most of the songs. Well, what made what Rhapsody is today was their capability to blend perfectly the heavy metal sound with the classical/symphonic sound, celtic sound and other non-heavy metal elements together, like 50%-50% more or less and this has been Rhapsody trademark ever since and in this album that doesn't quite happen. So overall I give the new album 8.0/10, because the previous album songs were more memorable.

About the Iron Maiden cover, is well done. Loved the dramatic sound given by the keyboards.

Quem conhece bem Rhapsody sabe ver que tem havido uma evolução desde que regressaram o ano passado. A primeira coisa que se nota é que em algumas musicas é estarem menos sinfónicas e mais ênfase nas guitarras e com mais peso. Alguns riffs e acordes e alguns ritmos na bateria não são muito típicos em Rhapsody e depois algum enfoque adicional nas vozes extremas.

Esta saga estava a ir pelo um caminho de que eu não estava a gostar muito, ao tempo do álbum Triumph Or Agony. Achei-o chato e nada a haver com o que são os Rhapsody. Pareciam uma banda já sem ideias, desmotivada e sem garra. Mais tarde viemos a saber o porquê. Parece que o período de ausência lhes fez bem, regressaram com mais garra e novas ideias e de coragem, desafiando o próprio conceito sonoro da banda e que toda a gente já se tinha habituado. Estou mesmo muito curioso com o que eles nos reservam no futuro.
